not usually the preachy vegan but this is true true true
I wish there was a source, but I researched it and it’s all true.
So millions of people associated with the animal industry would be out of jobs; animals themselves would be overpopulating as their biggest predator would stop feeding on them… Yes there are problems with the industry, as with any other industry, so more attention on fixing these problems is better than getting rid of it all together
Ok, you do realize that we selectively breed these animals in mass numbers to meet production quotas right? If we stopped eating animals, they wouldn’t start breeding out of control – they wouldn’t exist in the first place, because we wouldn’t be bringing them into existence through forced breeding. Where on earth do you find massive numbers of domesticated breeds of chickens, cows and pigs flocking/herding in huge numbers in the wild? And for that matter, let’s talk about all the other animals that we don’t eat that are just breeding OUT OF CONTROL! Not.
And then let’s go ahead and talk about all those poor, poor individuals in the agriculture industry that wouldn’t have jobs. Yes, how sad that they wouldn’t be able to participate anymore in a job that causes some of the highest rates of suicide and mental illness in its workforce. Also don’t forget the lovely community-improving Sinclair Effect – which shows increased rates of violent crime among factory farm employees. Lots of the people working in the meat, dairy and egg industries are convicts, illegal immigrants or mentally disabled people struggling to live above the poverty line – people that are easier to exploit because they have difficulty finding jobs anywhere else. Oh yeah, and agribusinesses producing animal products have repeatedly been accused of various human rights abuses. So yeah, I’m sure these exploited workers, laboring in one of the most dangerous jobs in America, with a 100% turnover rate are going to be so sad about the closing of factory farms.
Seriously, stop with the bullshit excuses and realize that animal exploitation is a problem for everyone, not just the animals.
Well said and another thing about the workers in those plants is that new, better jobs will come of an improved overall economy that would result if the the world did away with te meat industry.

Apart from being an amazing body alkalizer/alkaliser, here are my favourite lemon water benefits:
- Lemons are antiseptic
- Lemon water has excellent digestive properties and can ease heartburn, bloating and other digestion problems
- Lemon water cleanses and stimulates the liver and kidneys
A new Consumer Reports study finds a disturbingly high statistic: 97% of the chicken breasts CR tested were found to harbor bacteria that could make you sick. That’s just three percent shy of all the chicken…
Another reason to stop eating meat & fowl
“The Consumer Reports test found bacteria in chicken purchased in markets in 26 states across the country…almost none of the major brands were free of bacteria, more than half were tainted with fecal contaminants, about half of the samples tested positive for at least one multi-drug-resistant bacterium, and of the 65% of samples that tested positive for E. coli, nearly 18% featured particularly vicious strands of the disease that are known to heighten the probability of urinary-tract infection substantially higher.”
Has no one read The Jungle? Does this come as a surprise?
I met my goal, and am still in disbelief. I haven’t been under 140 since I started high school over 7 years ago…
